My Son's Favorite of the Brainy Baby Series     On: 2008-06-25

This one was by far my sons favorite when he was little. He would just smile when he saw the animals and sing-a-long with the Old McDonald song while clapping and laughing. I am buying a new one for my 3 month old because my son accidently broke this dvd a while back and I want to make sure she gets to enjoy it as much as her big brother did! We have quite a few of the Brainy Baby Series dvds and my son loved them all, especially this one. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.
Informative...but definately for OLDER children     On: 2007-10-31

I purchased this dvd based on all the great reviews especially b/c my daughter was beginning to outgrow Baby Einstein dvds. The first part of the dvd where there are children, animals and the Old MacDonald singing really sucked in my child and kept her interested but then all the information about all the animals told in a very "history channel" way lost my childs interest although kept the interest of her grandparents and my older nieces above the age of 5. So I cant give it high marks right now but I think I will be able to not regret this purchase as my child gets older...

A keeper!     On: 2007-10-28

I love this video! My son is 3 1/2 months and since just about a month--we put this in and he really liked it. His level of alertness and attention span at now 3 1/2 months is always commented on by other moms when we are out. They think he is much older since he really is "aware" of his surroundings. This video has fun music, lots of children, and explains animals in a wonderfully entertaining and educational way. I am not ashamed to say either -- my husband and I learned some new animals in the video too! It has more than the average cow, chicken, cat and dog in it. I especially love the ABCs of animals! You wont regret this purchase at all!
Poor Quality     On: 2007-07-18

Yes this show has lots of animals but it is so poorly produced that it is painful for the parents to watch and my child lost interest in this DVD right away. The music is terrible- not classical like you would expect. The music video at the end is terrible.

Brainy Baby - Animals     On: 2007-02-22

This did not seem like a Brainy Baby DVD. My 13mos old son loves Brainy Baby with the classical music and the cute babies, he loves to comment on the babies and point to teh screen. If you want a DVD with just shots of animals then this is proabably a good movie to get, there were lots of anuimals. But if youre looknig for a good Brainy Baby type DVD, I wouldnt suggest this one.
The next step up after Baby Einstein...     On: 2005-04-17

I decided to order a copy of this DVD when my son was still under a year. It was definitely too advanced for him then, but now at 20 months this is BY FAR his favorite movie. He watches most of the DVD which includes little kids/babies in the intro, Old MacDonalds Farm, an ABC of animals, and sections on different kinds of animal (furry faced animals, animals with fins and flippers, etc. etc.). He has even started answering some of the questions (what animal makes this sound, etc.)--so its a bit more interactive for him.

This is a great DVD to add when your child is getting too old for the Baby Einstein videos because it offers a lot more information. For example, it gives solid information such as "Did you know a cow has 4 stomachs?" and goes over the names of baby animals and groups of animals.

This definitely gets 5 stars from my son (and me) these days!!
Real, interesting animals     On: 2005-01-23

My 17-month old son is bored with all the Baby Einstein videos, but he is delighted with this. Its a good mix of animals he recognizes and new or exotic animals. He especially likes the "fins and flippers." I love the real animals and the music is great too. SOME DVDs are ok for infants and toddlers, but bore older preschoolers. This ones good for kids 3-5 too, so big sisters and brothers wont mind sharing the TV as much!

Great for animal lovers     On: 2004-09-14

My son has been watching this since 12 months old and loves it! The DVD is one hour long and is very educational and fun. Excellent real footage of many different animals.
Great, but I wish they made the animal names clearer.     On: 2004-04-26

This video is great in that it shows a very wide veriety of animals. However its hard for kids to pick out the actual name of each animal from the rest of the information they give on each one. I would prefer if they show the cow, say COW and then go on to tell about it. But they show a cow and go right into their speech about cows. My son didnt like it at first, but now that hes learned his animals from books, he really likes to watch it and point out all the different animals he knows.
Superb     On: 2004-03-01

I learn something new everytime I watch it with my 2 years old son. It covers interesting information about each animal, like cows having 4 stomachs or penguins being birds that cannot fly.. etc And besides the traditional groupings of house animals, animals in the water, etc.. it covers more interesting groupings, like " animals with furry faces, animals with stripes and dots, unusual animals, the animal alphabet..etc" It is simply the best and caters to all ages.
Great Movie     On: 2003-10-29

I bought this DVD for my 14th month old daughter who loves animals. It was worth every penny as she loves it and I enjoyed watching it myself. I really like how they talk though the movie so it is teaching them the names of animals while they watch. It is very education and the music is great. If you are a parent buy this DVD you will not regret it.

Kids just love animals     On: 2003-05-21

This video is a natural for a child. My daughter loves to watch the animals and has learned to recognize a variety of creatures from this DVD alone. I was thrilled to see they were limited to standard barnyard animals, and I love the upbeat music and the charming scenes! It always holds my daughters attention and is great for soothing her from a bad mood, and also for thrilling her when she is already happy!
