Theyre not made of cotton anymore. Rather, they are acrylic. This might make a difference to those of you who are sensitive to acrylic. Personally, I wish they hadnt changed it. Wigwams Still Rock!  On: 2007-03-02Started wearing these in high school (80s) cuz they were in style - had to use babysitting money to afford em! Twenty years later and 300 miles from home I still wear them and so does my best friend back home! Its not so much fashionable any more, but practical. These socks last for years, though Ive had to darn a few toes, just normal wear and the the seam seperated. The cotton finish is amazingly soft and doesnt ever irritate my skin. Same with the elastic - it doesnt leave a bite mark like some socks can. For me, this is really important as Ive had a back injury, multiple surgeries and permanent nerve damage in my legs. They can be really sensitive, so these are a blessing. The price here is excellent and in some areas (like where I live now) theyre hard to find. Instead of buying them when we go home at holidays, I can have them sent right to my door, safely packaged and arriving fast. AND... still cheaper than the full retail Id pay back home! Gotta love it! Cant beat that. Theres nothing quite like pulling on that brand new soft, slouchy, blinding white sock for the first time out of its package! COMFORTABLE! And for me, full of memories too! forever a great sock  On: 2005-11-01Me and my friends wore these in junior high school. We still wear them today as they are very comfortable and look great. My sister wears them with knee length skirts and rockports or keds. She says these are great for causual wear or a little dressier outfit like the one mentioned above. Everyone should have a couple pairs of these in their wardrobe. |
