  Sorel Men's Conquest Snow Boot By: Sorel Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 9 More Information Great Boots  On: 2008-12-02I bought these boots for the upcoming Winter in Afghanistan. My first impression was "wow" what a great boot. I dont normally spend this kind of money on a boot but I am VERY impressed with the boot. The drawstring at the top of the boot, the clips to hold the draw at the back of the boot... VERY VERY nice boot. It hasnt gotten cold enough here to wear the boots on a regular basis but I have worn them. The boots are comfortable to walk in but not very good for those days where it is above 75 degrees. My feet were sweating and I had to change to a lighter boot. I am looking forward to colder weather so I can wear the boots out and about to see how warm they can keep my feet in the snow and cold. For anyone who likes "manly" boots and the good look of a boot then this is the boot for you. Would be nice if they breathed a little more..but then again they arent really hiking boots. :) I would buy them again and definitely from the same store. Great customer service and great packing job / shipment response. I received them in Afghanistan in less than a week. Great for snowblowing! On: 2008-11-30I purchased these for snow blowing my driveway. Great traction with the tread. Ive not had any issues with cold feet in them like another reviewer, however Im not standing still in them and the coldest Ive been outside with this is about -5 F. I did just take them snowshoeing and they worked out just fine- only went about 3 miles- would probably want lighter boots to go further. The Perfect Winter Boot On: 2008-02-11Sizing: Feels half size too small Pros:Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses:Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Stadium, Wet Weather This is a great cold weather boot. Wear them for winter hiking, camping, or to a cold football game. There is a shorter, lighter, but not quite as warm version, the Sorel Timberwolf. Of course you should apply waterproofing to any boot such as Niwax. Finally, warm boots wont help if you do not layer with good long underwear and hat or balaclava. A hiking boot for the winter On: 2008-02-11I purchased these for my husband. He was in need of a new pair of snow boots so we browsed around online together and came across these. When they arrived my husband liked the idea that they were not like a traditional pair of snowboots with the inserts. They look more like a hiking boot. The area around the ankle seems like they would run small but I guess it is just the design of the boot to provide more ankle support. My husband said they actually slip on and off easier than the previous boots he had with the inserts. My husband does not have really thick ankles though so I dont know if this would be a problem for some guys. I read another review that stated that these ran big, but to play it safe we just ordered true to size and that worked out fine. They have the nylon area with the cord to prevent snow from getting in so far my husband is pretty pleased with this purchase. I cant really say how they are with alot of snow and keeping dry because our weather conditions went from very heavy snow to ice. Sorel Conquest boots  On: 2008-01-27When i first seen these boots on Amazon I thought they looked amazing,When i finally got them my first impressions were justified. I love these boots, they look good & perform very well. I do a lot of hill walking in the Dublin mountains & from day one these boots were comfortable & gave great ankle support, they allow your feet to breathe & were waterproof, they kept my feet dry while walking the banks of the many rivers i encounter. I would highly recommend these for any hill walkers or for just day to day use as they have a "dressy" look about them.A great product. Bought these boots for my boyfriend On: 2008-01-18I purchased these boots as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. He actually went online and picked them out. He loves them and says they are very warm. The only thing he doesnt like about them is the top part where the drawstring is. He says it rubs on the front of his leg and is annoying, but other than that, he has worn them already so often because of the smount of snow we have gotten so far. boots On: 2007-10-30i got thease for my boyfreind. he seems to like them.they made me nervous when i was ordering them.it dosnt tell u anywere what size or color u chose on your receit or when you go back and look at your order.so be careful wen odering any thing cause for all i new i had just boten a pink pair of size 7 boots for a hundred somthing dollars and no way too see otherwise untill delivery wen i opened the box. but i havent gotten any complants about the shoes,there good. Sorel Winter Boot  On: 2007-01-25The looks and comfort of this boot have not disappointed and I suspect they will give me good service - However the manufacturers state the boot will keep your feet warm to -40deg. I have so far worn them in temperatures around +3deg and my feet were not particularly warm when standing in one place for any length of time. I fear that in temperatures much below this my feet will feel decidedly cold in these boots. I live in the UK where winters are not particularly harsh and hoped if I bought a boot I thought was designed for much harsher climates I could not go wrong, I have my doubts. I use my boots mostly to go fishing in so am stationary for long periods. If you are on the move quite a lot then that may make a considerable difference.
