Bought it as more sure waterproof shell to North Face Bionic and Windwall. Both can fit under this jacket for additional warmth. Hood and neck cuff is best feature. Its a functioning hood meaning no windtunnel effect and putting a OR Sombrero underneath keeps even more rain off the face. Zipper pulls are good size and grippable with gloved fingers. Bionic sheds water and Im still dry after walking through a storm but the zippers are the fashionable teeny wimpy type that cant be gripped with gloves. Napoleon pockets in and side are useful and pit zips help vent heat. Cuffed velcro gloves with weatherproof gloves kept rain out very well. Tested in recent storms in city walks (22-50 F). Have not had chance to test in snow yet. Its comfortable and fits way better than picture (boxy) would suggest. Been wanting one for over a year and managed to pick one up during winter clearance. Found out afterwards its meant for snow and not just rain. Its warm and allows me to fit chenille sweaters underneath. Great and comfortable functional jacket. |
