Columbia outerwear - Good ole American "xtreme" tree-hugging, environmentally aware, outdoorsy stuff, right? Wrong! Just about everything Columbia sells is made in China (what is not, is made in Vietnam or Sri Lanka or Thailand). Kind of dilutes the image of Grandma Colombia personally quality-testing each jacket to her personal standards.
In general, Columbia looks cool. Thats why people go to REI or other outdoorsy stores to buy it. The reality is that not only are they made in a country with abysmal human rights, from where they send us poisened pet food and lead-paint toys, but they are of very poor quality and sized too small.
If image is the concern, then Columbia is great. Otherwise, avoid this brand -- there are much better quality and lower priced clothes elsewhere.
