The Pro-
Very roomy and well laid out pockets. The secondary main pocket is large and deep, and has several smaller pockets inside which is great for smaller items like batteries, pencils, etc. The straps are comfortable and well placed. The water pouch (for a Camel-bak or equivalent product) inside the main pocket is a nice touch, but works equally well for magazines or a laptop when not in the field. It is very durable and has been dragged, dropped, beaten around, kicked, spilled on, and generally abused and it is holding up perfectly, with only a broken zipper tab to show for it. A great 3-day bag for camping, and a great day bag for larger loads.
The con-
One of the zipper pull tabs broke off and several others are bent. The external mesh pockets below the side pockets are a little hard to get into when the side pockets are full.
Other-
I wish the outside loops were better placed. The ones on the secondary pocket limit you to tieing things to the very back, which makes it bulky and stick out when I would rather put things on the sides or top.
In order to open the main pocket to get anything of any size out, you have to undo the side adjusting straps. This isnt in the cons section because its more an inconvenient result of the way I use the bag rather than a design flaw.
