It is the only Item of its kind on the market that I have seen that is not hard shell, but you still can use it to transport equipment via airplane. Not only that but because you can attach it on top of your car or on the trunk. The two bags inside are handy at any time. Big and Tough  On: 2008-02-05This thing has plenty of room. I was able to fit a 163cm snowboard (bindings removed but still in the carrier with the rest of the stuff), a 156cm snowboard (bindings still on), a pair of 168cm skis (bindings still on), pair of ski poles, pair of ski boots, and 2 pairs of snowboarding boots. The thing is not actually advertised to be able to fit that much stuff, but with some boy-scout science and a little elbow grease, I was able to get it all in there. The pack weighed 60lbs and the skis were really stretching some of the seams in the corners, so I was worried that it was going to explode in transit. But it traveled 800 miles round trip in the luggage compartment of a Southwest jet, no problem! The reason I did not give it 5 stars was because when the pack was full (myabe overfilled?), I was not able to pull the weather proof sleave all the way down over the edges. The nylon straps prevented it from being too much of an issue, but I think that they could have added a little more fabric to the sleave to make it all the way around the edges. Also, the handle that you are supposed to use to wheel the pack around is very poorly positioned. It is no on the very top, which would make the most sense, but rather it is poitioned just under the nose of the pack and recessed a little. What this means is that it is almost impossible to find a comfortable holding position because the pack is resting on your forearm, which is uncomfortable and leeds to fatigue. Overall, I would recommend this product for its size and durability. |
