I ordered this parka for our trip to Alaska in August. Although temperatures in many places were in the 60s F, they were much lower during our glacier cruise on Prince William Sound and at higher altitudes in Denali Natl Park, and conditions lowered the chill factor considerably (especially on the deck of the tour boat at ~20 kts).
The coat is fairly lightweight and effective, although I havent tried it in an Alaskan Winter yet. I rolled it up and stuffed it into the bottom of my overpacked carry-on, with no problems. The main zipper seems durable enough, but is sometimes difficult to align and hook up properly. Otherwise, its a well-designed coat.
