![]() Head Cyber IC 160 Skis By: Head Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information Carves beautifully. Tracks solidly. No vibrations. This ski is incredible. Super quiet, even on rough snow, and carves like a dream. I am an intermediate skiier, who carves blues and easy blacks. There have been quite a few times when I know I would have wiped out on my old Volkl skis, but my Head IC 160s kept me on track even though I let myself get off balance. Heads "Intelligent Chip System" really works. Piezoelectric sensor fibers along the ski sense vibration; an electronic chip inverts the signal, and sends the inverted signal down piezoelectric transducer fibers to counter-flex the ski, thus canceling the vibration. Amazing technology. This was Heads most expensive, top of the line ski (out of about eleven models), initially listing for $900. The 2003-2004 Skiing Buyers Guide "Skiing Testers Choice" rated it their #1 pick of the Heads. They wrote: "A 64-mm waist and 14.7-m turn radius give the I.C 160 a slim footprint that pivots into tight carves almost effortlessly. Thick rails located over the edges give it torsional rigidity to see the turn through. GRIPES: At speed, tight carves start to feel jumpy. PROPS: It turns on a euro, and is super fluid on groomers. TESTERS TAKE: It has a whippy feel that wont surprise. - [tester] Kevin Calabrese". This is a great opportunity to buy a high end ski cheaply. |
